Replace ‘feels like a slow week’ with a number.

A goal without a forecast is a guess. Set a sales or orders target on a forecast, and the chart shows where the period is heading against it. The gap tells you how much the rest of the month has to deliver.

  • Forecast sales or orders for the rest of the week, month, quarter, or year
  • Goals as a fixed amount or as growth over last period or last year
  • Scope a forecast to a saved customer segment
  • Save named forecasts and pin them to a dashboard

Forecasts that know your Mondays from your Decembers.

A run rate assumes each day sells like your average day. By the Numbers fits a statistical model to your daily sales that separates the trend from weekly and yearly seasonality. Each time you open a forecast, it refits on your orders through yesterday.

  • Trend that adjusts where your growth rate shifts
  • Weekly seasonality for your strongest and slowest days
  • Yearly seasonality from up to 25 months of daily sales
  • The same model projects the rest of the week or month in Pulse

Three forecasting decisions this week

Ad budget

It’s the 12th and you’re $40K behind plan.

The month forecast shows where you land against your target line. Move Meta or Google spend toward the channel with the best ROAS, then reopen the forecast tomorrow.

Inventory

A SKU is selling faster than you planned.

Inventory Forecast weights the last 7 days most, so the faster pace shows up in its 30- and 90-day projections. Inventory Demand shows the days of stock left, so you reorder before the stockout.

Cash flow

You need to commit to Q4 inventory spend.

Forecast the rest of the year, and last year’s seasonal peak carries into this year’s numbers. Finance plans Q4 against your store’s own seasonality instead of a flat average.

Forecasting questions, answered

How does the forecast work?

It fits a statistical time-series model to your store's daily sales. The model separates the trend, including points where your growth rate shifts, from weekly and yearly seasonality.

How much history does a forecast need?

At least 90 days with orders. The model learns from up to 25 months of daily sales, so the longer your history, the more of your seasonal pattern it has seen.

How often does the forecast update?

Each time you open it. The model refits on your orders through yesterday, so last week's results shape this week's forecast.

Can I forecast a single customer segment?

Yes. Scope a forecast to a saved segment, then save it by name and pin it to a dashboard.

What kinds of goals can I set?

A sales or orders target, as a fixed amount or as growth over the last period or the same period last year. A fixed-amount goal is drawn as a target line on the forecast chart.

Set a goal this morning. Track it tomorrow.
